Extraction of compound

Soxhlet is a type of apparatus used for the solid-liquid extraction. Here the compound of interest in a mixture is placed in a filter paper ball and the solvent used for extraction is passed through it repeatedly. With each solvent wash at high temperature, the compound of interest gets dissolved in it and pass through the fiter paper. The process is repeated for several times to get maximum extraction yield. Here trimysitin is isolated from the mixture using this repeated extraction technique in good yields.
