Which of the following statements is a true statement concerning a reaction that has reached a state of equilibrium?

A system has reached equilibrium when there are equal amounts of products and reactants present in the system.

A system has reached equilibrium when the rate constant for the forward reaction equals the rate constant of the reverse reaction.

A system has reached equilibrium when the reaction has stopped and no more products are formed.

A system has reached equilibrium when the concentrations of reactants and products remain constant.

Answer #1

True statement is: A system has reached equilibrium when the concentrations of reactants and products remain constant

A reaction is reached equilibrium when the rate of forward reaction is equal to rate of reverse reaction but the reaction is never stopped. Also, there is formation of reactants and products but amounts of products is not equal to amount of reactants. But, the rate constant is not same rate same. as the rate is same in both direction the concentrations of reactants and products remain constant.
