When solution in hot condition or excited state and don't allow to cool the complete reaction is not happening as product formed are not stabilize in excited state . b)
When hot water added imiditately to ice, temperature of ice increase suddenly and melt immediate.
You will get a normal temperature water from ice so it is not effective process so lose of ice happened.
