What is the best way to graph an observed melting point versus its theoretical? Should I use a scatter plot or a bar graph to represent the range in temperature of a compound melting?

* By measuring the various melting points of several known compounds with sharp melting point you can find a relationship between the observed and theoretical melting point.Then you plot observed melting point to the x-axis and theoretical melting point to the y-axis.Now find your measure temperature in the x-axis and also look for the corresponding actual i.e. theoretical melting point in the y-axis.

** With scatter plot we can plot a variable with an invariable if we only have single value.But in case of melting point range as it not a single value,we can not use scatter plot,here you should use a bar graph to represent the range in temperature of a compound melting.
