There are many sdvantages of the artificial or synthetic catalysts over enzymes.
These are :
1. Enzymes are specific , whereas catalysts are not . Catalysts can work on different substrates / reactants to yield the desired products.
2. Enzymes are usually regulated by the concentration of substrates , whereas teh catalysts can be regulated by their own overall concentration , which can be manipulated in order to bring about the desired concentration of products.
3. Enzymes are usually stereospecific , they lead to the formation of mixture D and L stereoisomers whereas catalysts produce the specific stereoisomer desired.
