Question

what is the difference between stereoisomers and conformation isomers?

what is the difference between stereoisomers and conformation isomers?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Stereoisomers are those isomers which have same molecular formula as well as same sequence of bond or structural formula but their three dimensional structures in space are different.

conformation isomers is type of stereoisomers in which isomers can be interconverted by rotation along single bond. Therefore any two arrangements of atom are rotated about single bond is referred to conformations and that conformations that corresponds to lowest energy are specifically called conformational isomers.
