Is it possible to determine energy per unit of area of surfaces of chain fold from polyethylene which has been crystallized from a solution?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Hi,

The basic assuption behind the calculation of surface area of chain fold is that chain fold area is larger than the lateral area for the crystal. With this assumption we consider the thermodynamical aspect of the theory that surface energy per area and bulk volume of the matter / crystal sholuld be same (Specific heat). Hence if we consider above assumption then it is possible to estimate surface area of chain fold from the crystal of Polyethylene in solution. This is a topic of Crystallisation of polymers.

Thanks.

Exitance is defined as the power per unit area that is emitted from the surface of an object. For a blackbody radiator, the exitance emitted is dependent upon its temperature. Calculate the exitance in W / cm 2 for a blackbody radiator at 59 K and 334 K . exitance at 59 K = W / cm 2 exitance at 334 K = W / cm 2
