If bond forming releases energy and bond breaking requires energy, then why is condensation reaction unfavorable and why is hydrolysis favorable?

this is somewhat different when compared to chemistry sessions.

this can be explained by ATP hydrolysis in biology.

The breakage of ATP is a hydrolysis reaction example: it is promoted by water. When ATP is formed , there will be opposite thing happen , the reaction is condensation. example. water molecule eliminated.

In hydrolysis the phosphate group that is liberated is reacts with water and forms orthophosphate. next step is the remaining H from water molecule takes place of phosphate , then ADP is formed.Hence two bonds formed and some enrgy is released.

it is not that breakdown of ATP releases energy, actually it costs some energy to break that bond, but the process that fallow are the ones which release the energy.
