Question

What mass of NaCl is dissolved in 150g of water in a .050m solution?

What mass of NaCl is dissolved in 150g of water in a .050m solution?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

molality   = W*1000/G.M.Wt * weight of solvent in g

Weight of solute (W) =

molality                         = 0.05m

Weight of solvent in g    = 150g

Gram molar mass of NaCl   = 58.5g/mole

molality   = W*1000/G.M.Wt * weight of solvent in g

     0.05   = W*1000/58.5*150

     W       = 0.05*58.5*150/1000    = 0.44g >>>>answer

mass of NaCl = 0.44g
