What is buffer?
Book says it just a mixture of weak acid and weak base(?) that does not change its ph much?
I really don't know why it is so important and why we are learning it.
A buffer is a solution containing either a weak acid and its salt or a weak base and its salt, which is resistant to changes in pH.
we are learnng it because sometimes it is really important to kepp Ph under certain range to allow the things happen. for example in our body every cell has optimum Ph and the cell works at that Ph only. so to keep that cell working, body makes use of buffers so that Ph around that cell remains optimum and constant.
optimum Ph is Ph where efficiency of cell is maximum.
