Na2O + H2O ----- > 2NaOH

Now lets calculate the amount of the NaOH produced from the 19.6 g Na2O

(19.6 g Na2O *1 mol/ 61.979 g)*(2 mol NaOH/1mol Na2O)*(40 g /1mol NaOH)= 25.3 g NaOH

Lets calculate mass of water needed for reaction

(19.6 g Na2O *1 mol/ 61.979 g)*(1mol H2O/1mol Na2O)*(18.0148 g /1mol NaOH)= 5.7 g H2O

Therefore mass of water remain = 30.8g – 5.7 g =25.1 g

Hence mass of NaOH and unreacted H2O = 25.3 g +25.1 g = 50.4g
