Atomic mass and molar mass are essentially the same thing. The
atomic mass is the average mass of the element based on which
isotope shows up more in nature. Molar Mass is the grams it takes
of any element to equal one mole ( or the mass that 6.022 x
1023 atoms of that element.) They can be interchanged,
because they are basically the same thing.
When you think about it, if each atom ways however much, then 6.022
x 1023 atoms would have the same proportional weight as
a single atom. The chances are, you are going to use Molar Mass a
lot more, so just accept that its the same thing.
BaCl2 = 137.33 u + 2(35.45 u)
= 137.33 u + 70.90 u
= 208.23 u
