Eluting power on silica:

Hydrocarbons> Ketones> alcohols > carboxylic acids

Eluting power depends on the polarity of the molecules. More polar molecule, elutes last in the column chromatograpghy.

Hydrocarbons are not polar. So they elute very fast. Next ketone which elutes next as it is slightly polar than hydrocarbons. Alcohols elute next as they are polar than both ketones and hydrocarbons.

Carboxylic acid are the most polar molecules which elute at the last
