If half wave potential value (E1/2) of two electroactive species are too close , how can these be separated ??

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Half wave potential (E1/2) is the potential at which the current is equal to one half of the limiting current and is closely related to the standard potential fo the half-reaction but usually not identical to that constant therefore, if half wave potential (E1/2) of two electroactive species are too close then we find limiting current which is generally proportional to the concentration of elctroactive species thus spearation would be easier and also under fixed condition it is called diffustion current (id).

Consider two sister clades of marine invertebrates, where each clade consists of multiple species. The species Clade 1 all have planktonic larva (the larva stay in the water column and can disperse vast distances in the ocean). In contrast, Clade 2 species all produce larva that settle quickly on the ocean floor, and never disperse far from their parents. Briefly describe how larval lifestyle satisfies the third requirement of Species Selection (that it impacts the survival or extinction of the...
