We know that PLA is produced from corn or dextrose. PLA is a bio degradable organic polymer. bio degradable means this polymer can be degraded by small organisms like bacteria, viruses etc. Large systems made of PLA will degrade faster from inside due to these bio organisms can live inside compare to outside. (Just compare a tank of water remain untouched for few weeks then there will be microorganisms inside the tank floating and moving in a brownian motion, we can clearly observe such type during monsoon season).
