The term was introduced by charles Darwin 1859.The natual selection was described by analogy by artificial selection a process by which individuals with traits considered desirable by human breeders are systematicallly favored for reproduction. The concept of natural selection was originally developed in the absence of theory of inheritance

A natural process that results in the survival and reproductive success of individuals or groups best adjusted to their environment and that leads to the perpetuation of genetic qualities best suited to that particular environment.
