the element which corresponds to this ionization energies have is the 4rt group element

for 4rth group element valency is 4 .

the electron configuration of 4rth group = [Ne] ns2 np2

so it looses 4 electrons easily. after loosing 4 electrons its get stable nobel gas configuration .

so it require more energy to remove 5th electron.

observing the above given ionization energies .

first 4 are slightly increase. but coming to 5th there is drastic increase of energy. so it is confirmed the element belongs to 4rth group
