Question

Should a law of conservation of volume exist?

Should a law of conservation of volume exist?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

No, This because volume is not a constant. Now the volume of any one particular liquid is constant when temperature is constant however, the volume of a liquid will change with temperature so...when mixing liquids of different temperatures the volume will change. however this does not mean that the exact volumes of mixed liquids cannot be determined, only that they are now constant. That is why we do not write a law for the conservation of volume, but we do for other values such a mass, energy, etc
