In the expression, S = k ln W, W is called the number of microstates. Explain clearly the meaning of the word "microstate", and why a system under a given set of conditions normally has many microstates.

Answer #1

Answer:-

Microstates:-The microstate of the system is defined by the specification of six coordinates (x,y,z,vx.vy,vz) of each molecules of the system within the limits of dimentions of the cell in which its representation point lies.

This means that in order to define a microstate , the place of each molecule is specified within the limits dx,dy.dz and the magnitude of thedirections of each molecule within the limits dvx,dvy.dvz. So a system has many microstates under a given set of conditions.

This laboratory assignment involves implementing a data structure called a map. A map associates objects called keys with other objects called values. It is implemented as a Java class that uses arrays internally. 1. Theory. A map is a set of key-value pairs. Each key is said to be associated with its corresponding value, so there is at most one pair in the set with a given key. You can perform the following operations on maps. You can test if...
