Which theroy is more complicated than the localized electron model and requires solving the schrodinger mathematics equation and what are the major tenets of the localized electron model ?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

' Quantum mechanical model ' of atom is more complicated than the localized electron model and requires solving the schrodinger mathematics equation.

Some important tenets of localised electron model are:--

Localised electron theory assumes that all bonds are localized bonds formed between two atoms by the donation of an electron from each atom.According to this theory a covalent bond is formed between the two atoms by the overlap of half filled valence atomic orbitals of each atom containing one unpaired electron. Localised electron theory considers that the overlapping atomic orbitals of the participating atoms form a chemical bond. Because of the overlapping, it is most probable that electrons should be in the bond region.

Is more energy released by positron emission or electron capture? I read online that "electron capture is more economical in energy than positron emission, its competitor. The creation of a positron requires 511 keV, the mass energy of the positron. If the energy released in the decay is smaller than 511 keV, the emission of a positron (beta-plus decay) is not allowed. Below this energy threshold, electron capture becomes the only process available to reduce an excess of protons." Which...

Atmospheric pressure is more complicated than what is presented in the hydrostatic pressure equation (p = p0 + ??gd) but there are some similar patterns as you observed in this part. The air we breathe is a fluid but it is also a gas that is spread out between the ground and approximately 30 km above it. Pressure increases with depth under water because of the weight of the fluid above it. This also happens with air, but since it...

Consider the Bohr model of the hydrogen atom for which an electron in the ground state executes uniform circular motion about a stationary proton at radius a0. (a) Find an expression for the kinetic energy of the electron in the ground state. (b) Find an expression for the potential energy of the electron in the ground state. (c) Find an expression for the ionization energy of an electron from the ground state of the hydrogen atom. The ionization energy is...

Explain why statistics is more “grey area” than other content areas of mathematics. More specifically, discuss what significance means. Does it give you a guarantee? Is it error free? If you see a statistically significant study, should you always believe and adhere to the result? Knowing what you now do about data, do you think it is always what it seems?

analyzing a mixture salts with differing cations and/or anions can be far more complicated than analyzing a single simple salts. Interference between cations or between an anions can greatly increase the complexity of the result. Using sound chemical knowledge, suppose your simple salts is white granular solid. At what specific step in the cations procedure might you begin your analysis ? explain your reasoning

Successful financial management requires knowledge of not only the terminology, mathematics, and techniques of financial management, but also that of human psychology and sociology. Financial and economic history in general—and market bubbles in particular—are filled with examples of both rational and irrational behaviors. Which of the following behaviors are true characterizations of a market bubble and which are false? Behavior True False Bubbles tend to end with sudden, unexpected and significant price increases, and a post-burst asset price that is...

Everyday problem solving often times appears to be much more complex than what is sometimes examined in the laboratory. It sometimes appears that the elaborate processes described in the chapter are not necessarily those used outside of the laboratory. Often times it appears people use a more eclectic approach to problem solving by using components of the different strategies. Similar to above, identify and discuss a (significant) problem you have had to solve and the strategies used to solve it.   THIS IS A...
