Derive/explain the how thermal conductivity can be explained in terms of the kinetic theory of gasses.
According to the Kinetic theory of gases,
The gas molecules travel randomly & they can colloid each other & on the walls of the container & they impact pressure on the walls of a container, of molecules or atoms moving at different velocities.During collisions they loose some amount of energy which heat up the ontainer so this is called thermal energy & the conductivity of the gas molecules is due to this thermal energy so it is known as thermal conductivity & the temperature of an ideal monatomic gas is proportional to the average kinetic energy of its atoms.
