Answer #1

Degree of unsaturation is the count of no of Pi bonds in the form of double bonds or triple bonds(2 pi bonds) or in the form rings present in the structure of a organic compound.

1 degree of Unsaturation refers either one doublebond or one closed ring.

2 Degree of unsaturation refer to presence of 2 double bonds or 2 rings or 1 ring+1 doublebond or 1 triple bond( 2 pi bonds)

- In structure of linalool we could see two double bonds present and no rings and no triple bond .So ,the degree of unsaturation of linalool is 2

In organic lab, we did a steam distillation of the essential oil of caraway oil. In the post questions it asks for some calculation I don't understand how to get. First ---> calculate the percent of essential oil based on the mass of caraway oil used (caraway oil used was 2.038 grams) Second ----> assuming the reaction is quantitative, the amount of carvone originally in the extracted oil can be calculated. The amount of limonene in the oil can then...

The body needs many minerals; these are called essential minerals. Essential minerals are sometimes divided up into major minerals (macrominerals) and trace minerals (microminerals). These two groups of minerals are equally important, but trace minerals are needed in smaller amounts than major minerals. The amounts needed in the body are not an indication of their importance. A balanced diet usually provides all of the essential minerals. This time you reflect on your IDEAL list of food for a day to...
