a. A solution used to stabilize the ph(acidity) of a liquid is called a buffer.Buffer works on the principle of neutralization reaction in which hydrogen ions are neutralized y the base and hydroxide ions are neutralized by acid.

b. Blood contains the buffer of carbonic acid and bicarbonate anion .This buffer system also works on the principle of neutralization reaction.This buffer system maintains the ph of blood.In this buffer system hydronium and bicarbonate anions are in equilibrium with carbonic acid.
