If the balloon had a volume of 5 L at a depth of 50 m , what was the original volume of the balloon if we assume the pressure at the surface of the water is 14.7 psi?

ballon had a volume = 5L and depth = 50 m

for 10m depth ---------------- pressure increase 14.7 psi

for 50 m depth --------------- pressure increase = 50 x 14.7 / 10 = 73.5 psi

                                                                          = 73.5 psi

from the relation

P1 / P2 = V2 / V1

14.7 / 73.5 = 5 / V1

V1 = 25 L

original volume of the ballon = 25 L
