What safety precautions should one be aware of when performing specific heat of a metal experiment

Homework Answers

Answer #1

1. Use precautions/caution when handling any hot glassware or the hot meta.

2.• Be sure that the cord for the hot plate does not touch the surface of the hot plate..

3. Handle metal with care with using mssd data sheet.

4. Some metals are highly reactive and explosive hence stored in solvent . do not lean out this metal.

5.Wear your safety goggles.

6. Lead is a toxic metal. Wash your hands thoroughly after use.

7. Do not touch hot equipment.

8. Never use a thermometer as a stirrer.

9.Return the wet lead to the drying vessel on the back-bench.
