Briefly describe two common methods to perform standard addition.

The standard addition method is very important in chemistry point of view.

It is done by following methods-

1.single or multiple addition method(analytically)

2.regression method(linear or nonlinear)

In first one , you take some volume of solution than dilute it with adding some volume and than again you take the standard volume and do same process . But one property remains same in both the cases so you equate it and find the required data. like concentration . we can find these things by making graphically also.

second one is little bit complicated because here first you have to find the error by using equation like-

where y=actual and y bar equals mean value. than we square the errors and find minimum value by differentiating with cofficient. and solve it using excel.
