number of electrons in Cr2+ = 24-2 = 22 electrons

2. The oxidation number of Ba is changing from 0 to +2 and Hg from +2 to 0. So, Ba is being oxidised and Hg is being reduced. Thus Ba is acting as reducing agent and Hg is acting as oxidising agent.

3. melting point = 2989 K = 2989-273 oC = 2716 oC

4. HNO3, HBr release H+ when dissolved in water and Ba(OH)2 and CsOH release OH- in water. Thus HNO3 and HBr behaves as acids and Ba(OH)2 and CsOH behave as bases.
