Describe why parallel and series wiring of Voltaic Cells might prove useful.
A mixed combination of series and parallal is more usefull. It can be understood as. lets take six cells. When these cells are connected in series the meximum voltage produced in this arrangement is SUM of voltages of individual cells.
Vtotal = v1 + v2 + v3 + v4 + v5 + v6.
BUT the TOTAL CURRENT produced in this combination is eual to that of SINGLE CELL.
When these cells or arranged in parallal mode the TOTAL CURRENT produced is sum of individual currents of cells.
I total = i1 + i2 + i3 + i4 + i5 +i6.
However the TOTAL VOLTAGE produced is equal to voltage of SINGLE CELL.
COMBINATION OF SERIES AND PARALLAL CELLS WILL PRODUCE COMBINATION OF POSSIBLE V AND I.
Suppose these six cells are devided into two groups. Each group having three cells. These two groups are connected paralla to each other
Total voltage = 3 X Voltage of individual cells (3 cells in series)
Total current = 2 X voltage of individual cell ( two groups in parallal. Each group has current of i. Total current = 2 X i)
