Define differential media

Define differential media

Homework Answers

Answer #1

DIFFERENTIAL MEDIA:

It is also called as indicator media. The main aim of this media is to differentiate one species of bacteria from others based on the biochemical characteristics of the microorganisms growing in the media. This media should be provided with specific nutrients or indicators such as phenol red, methylene blue, eosin. This helpful in visibly defining the characteristics of microorganisms. It is also used to finding unknown bacteria.

Examples of differential media:

  • Eosin methylene blue agar media
  • Blood agar media
  • MacConkey agar media

5. Define the Mass Media process and discuss why it is worthy of academic research. Think in particular about epistemology (the study of knowledge), societal structures (authoritarianism vs. democracy), and various academic perspectives (Social-Science and Interpretive). As we blend all of these concepts together, what makes Mass Media a valuable field of study for academia, and thus society? One page double spaced response
