ATP formation is different from glycolysis through oxidative phosporylation. Explain this difference.
Answer=In Glycolysis ATP formation occurs by substrate level phosphorylation. The Important difference between substrate level phosphorylation and oxidative phosphorylation is that in substrate level phosphorylation phosphate group is transferred from the substrate to ADP so ATP formation occurs while in oxidative phosphorylation NADH and FADH gives electron transfer potential so electron passes through the chain and their energy stored in the Mitochondria in the form of ATP.
