A random event occurs and there is a change in the pH level of the chloroplast. What effect would this have on the overall survival of the plant?

Answer #1

The pH of the chloroplast is important for the functioning of the chloroplast. The thylakoid lumen is responsible for ATP synthesis in light phase of photosynthesis. The stroma pH is important for regulating the activity of photosynthetic enzyme.

If there is found random egfect which leads to change the pH of ghe chloroplast, then the ATP synthesis does not occur and the photosynthesis does not occur due to alter the functionality of photosynthetic enzyme. Hence the glucose is not produced. All the cells requires glucose for obtaining energy. Because glucose breaks down into water, carbon dioxide energy in respiration. That's why the plant growth is highly reduced. If the same conditions remains for long period of time, then it can lead to death of the plant becausr of lack of energy.

Calculate the change in pH that occurs when 0.00100 mol of gaseous HCl is added to a buffer solution that is prepared by dissolving 4.92 g of sodium acetate ( molar mass= 82.03 g/mol) in 250 mL of 0.150 mol/L of acetic acid solution? Assume no change in volume upon addition of either the sodium acetate or HCl. (Ka for acetic acid = 1.8x10^-5) *please explain!*

Let x be a random variable that represents the pH of arterial plasma (i.e., acidity of the blood). For healthy adults, the mean of the x distribution is μ = 7.4.† A new drug for arthritis has been developed. However, it is thought that this drug may change blood pH. A random sample of 41 patients with arthritis took the drug for 3 months. Blood tests showed that x = 8.6 with sample standard deviation s = 3.3. Use a...

An industrial company claims that the mean pH level of the water in a nearby river is 6.8. You randomly select 19 water samples and measure the pH of each. The data from the 19 water samples appeared to be unimodal and symmetric and had a mean pH level of 6.7 and a standard deviation of 0.24. Is this evidence that the mean pH level of the water in this river is not 6.8? The null and alternative Hypotheses for...
