Pathogen enters into host cell by interaction of its proteins or polypetide sugars with the host receptor or cell wall component. Once attached it enters into the cell and starts to replicate its genome and than translate the proteins responsible for its package and than release from the cell by killing it. Antimicrobial drugs can be targeting the peptides or sugars used for interaction with the host or its cell wall components or by targeting replication and translation machinery so that bacteria may not be able to increase in number
