The two base pairs deletion is a frameshift mutation; therefore, it will produce a nonfunctional or abnormal protein. Contrastingly, the 12 base pair deletion is an in-frame mutation; therefore, the protein will still have a chance to work properly.

Answer b:)

If both deletions occur in the gene’s intron regions, then it will not give any effect on the protein. Introns will be removed during the RNA splicing. Therefore, the normal protein will be produced in both deletions.
