Answer #1

Hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) are the progenitor of all blood cells. These HSC will give two different pathways: 1)Common lymphoid progenitor and 2) common myeloid progenitor.

1) Common lymphoid progenitor: It will give T-cells, B-cells, and Natural killer cells

2) Common Myeloid progenitor: It will give RBC and some cells of WBC.

A red blood cell may carry an excess charge of about -2.5×10^−12 C distributed uniformly over its surface. The cells, modeled as spheres, are approximately 8 μm in diameter and have a mass of 9.0×10^−14 kg. 1) How many excess electrons does a typical red blood cell carry? (Express your answer to two significant figures.) 2) Does the mass of the extra electrons appreciably affect the mass of the cell? To find out, calculate the ratio of the mass of...

I'm working in a 6 page research paper and below is the complete list of the paper has to be set up and the required things needed to be included. Can you check to see what is already included on the list and what is missing in my paper. Also, what I need to improve and how? My topic is "The Struggles of Epilepsy". Can you help me with the content (background, empirical research, and hypothesis )? I also need...

Recall in our discussion of the normal distribution the research study that examined the blood vitamin D levels of the entire US population of landscape gardeners. The intent of this large-scale and comprehensive study was to characterize fully this population of landscapers as normally distributed with a corresponding population mean and standard deviation, which were determined from the data collection of the entire population. Suppose you are now in a different reality in which this study never took place though...

Analysis and Report - "The Science of Cool" During this lesson, you've learned about the variety of research methodologies that a psychologist scientist may choose to use in answering a research question. Now it's your turn to think carefully and creatively through a research question and choose an appropriate method. The research question:   What is the concept of "Cool"? Can we identify people who are "cool"? Are there benefits (or effects) to being a "cool" person (i.e. what might cool...

Research is an integral part of all professional fields. Designing a research study can be a complicated task that can be simplified if the appropriate techniques can be identified. This assignment will give you the opportunity to design an experiment, including finding relevant prior research, determining the appropriate sample, data analysis techniques, and discuss the results you hope to see. Working from the topic chosen earlier in the topic selection, you will be designing your own statistical study. In a...

Instructions: Recall the “Witness” study from your t-Test crash course. Research in legal psychology shows that eyewitnesses are greatly impacted by the manner in which investigators phrase their questions. For example, in 1974, Loftus and Palmer conducted a study where they had participants watch a video clip of a car accident and then answer questions about what the participants just witnessed. They assigned participants to one of two conditions where they altered the phrasing of one important question: How fast...

As you saw from the lab PowerPoint slides last week, you will be doing a research study looking at ‘Aggression Priming” for your first paper. For this week’s discussion, I want you to discuss with your group what you think this study is about. What is the hypothesis? What theory does it come from? What do you predict will happen (do you expect something different than the hypothesis in the researcher instructions? If so, what and why?)? Do you think...
