Microaerophile

Facultative anaerobe

Obligate anaerob

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Facultative anaerobes

The enzyme catalase is produced by bacteria that respire using oxygen and protect them from the toxic byproducts of oxygen metabolism catalase positive bacteria includes strict aerobes as well as facultative anaerobes although they all have the ability to respire using oxygen as a terminal electron acceptor ,,

Microaerophile is a microorganism that requires oxygen to survive but requires environment containing lower level of oxygen then that are present in the atmosphere.

Obligate anaerobes are microorganism killed by normal atmospheric concentration of oxygen. Obligate anaerobes microorganism survive in oxygen.
