Sea bass
Sea bass are scientifically known as Centropristis striata. These fishes thrive at a depth of 150 to 200 deep among dense kelp forest and coral reefs.
The chief locomotary organ of this fish are tail and caudal fins. They can more at faster speed but for only a short distance.
Only known predators of sea bass are sharks and human. Though significant decrease in sea bass population is caused due to human exploitation. Which led to the decline of fishing industry around 1970s. For example the Chilean sea bass is an endangered species.u
Coloration of the sea bass mainly depends on developmental stage. Juveniles are bright orange colored and covered with black dots whereas the adults fishes have bluish black or dark grey back covered with large black spots. Bottom side of the body is white colored.
