Genetic engineering is change or alteration in the DNA of the organism. The organism whose DNA is altered is known as genetically modified organism.
The safeguard strategies include :-
(a) direct health effects - which include toxicity, it mean the the product after consumption is not toxic to other organsim or generate allergic reaction
b) the stability of the gene which is inserted.
c) nutritional effects associated with the product or the organsim.
d)any other unintended effects which could result from the gene insertion.
These safety standards are maintained for safety consumption and use of the genetically modied products and organisim.
