Answer #1

Question: Can you please differentiate between pre-pro-proteins and pro-proteins? My lecture slides and text book are all convoluted in their explanations.

pre-proteins:- Pre- protein contains the signal sequence i.e. gives signal to the cell where to be the protein so formed to be transported or targetted.

pro-proteins:- Pro-proteins or also called pro-peptides are precursors, which holds the protein in its inactive form after mRNA is fully translated. The protein can be activated by the cleavage of these peptides (post translational modification).

pre-pro-proteins:- Pre-pro-proteins has both the sequences above mentioned i.e. pre-proteins and pro-proteins.

A common trend in e-marketing is designing something "in-house" and then outsourcing the actual development of the item overseas. Substantial cost savings can be realized in this fashion, as people in other countries will often do the same work at a fraction of the price that it can be done within the U.S. The problem with this is that people living overseas live...
