Aspartate (Asp) and Glutamate (Glu).

Aspartate + - Ketoglutarate <======> Oxaloacetate + Glutamate

The reaction is carried out by enzymes :-

  • Aspartate Aminotransferase or
  • Glutamate Oxaloacetate transferase

Both Oxaloacetate and - Ketoglutarate are intermediates of citric acid cycle.
