What type of advantage, if any, is there to the "spore system" when compared to animal gamete development? Can you argue that this applies to all green plants in the same way? Why or why not?
1)Spores are produced out of asexual reproduction .
2)It can be able to develope into adult gametophyte/ plant on its own and does not need to fuse with another gamete to form zygote as observed in gametophyte system.
3)spores has thicker outer layer that protects them so that it can remain dormant and survive extreme conditions viable until conditions supporting for thier growth appears whereas gametophytes are delicate
No, not all the green plants produce same characteristic spores spores are haploid only in vascular plants . Heterosporous plants such as seed plants produce megasporangium and microsporangium in which male and female spores separate
