why is primase required for replication
Solution:-
Primase is an essential enzyme that helps in starting DNA replication by creating primers. Primase synthesize RNA primer oligonucleotide that are complementarily bound to a DNA template from which elongation of DNA polymerases starts. Primer synthesize before DNA replication because enzyme that synthesize DNA that is DNA polymerases can only attach to new DNA nucleotides to an exsiting strand of nucleotides. Primase make one primer for "leading strand" and also work for " lagging strand" to form Okazaki fragments. So, primase serve as prime and lay a foundation for DNA synthesis.
