Phylogenetic Networking mainly has two advantages over Linnaean system as it tells about the evolutionary history of the organism. Also Phylogenetic classification does not rank organisms.

Disadvantage :  Phylogenetic Networking is unable to account for the time.Lenth of the branch has nothing to do with how much time has passed.

Eg : Chimps are most closely related to humans which have evolved from the broader category ( Apes ). However the tree will not give any information on when did this divergence occured in earths evolutionary history.
