Answer #1

C. Evolution occurs at the population level

Evolution means the cumulative chnages that occur to the population over time, the process of evolution occurs only in population but not in individual. It involves the changes in gene frequencies in a gene pool.

Organisms or population will adapt to an environment for the survival or they die. These are 4 mechanisms of evolution they are natural selection, mutation, genetic drift and gene flow.
Maring is always not random in a population because non random mating can also occur sometimes because one organisms choose to mate with another based on certain traits.

Which of the below statements is NOT a legitimate mechanism by which natural selection can maintain genetic variation in a population. Overdominance. When there is heterozygote advantage, as long as a population starts with two alleles (i.e., is not fixed for one or the other allele) both alleles will be maintained at a stable equilibrium. Fluctuating selection. Temporally or spatially varying selective regimes that favor different genotypes can preserve genetic variation. The maintenance of variation by this mechanism requires a...

Which of the following statements are true regarding intermediate species? Intermediates can appear in the rate law expression. Intermediates cannot appear in the rate law expression. Intermediates produced in one step of a mechanism must be consumed in other steps of the mechanism. An intermediate produced in one step of a mechanism must be consumed in the next step of the mechanism. B only B and C only A only A and D only

In yeast cells, the Mcm1 protein is encoded by the MATa allele and as such is only present in a cells. The MAT gene is the only gene...
