C. Evolution occurs at the population level

Evolution means the cumulative chnages that occur to the population over time, the process of evolution occurs only in population but not in individual.It involves the changes in gene frequencies in a gene pool.

Organisms or population will adapt to an environment for the survival or they die. These are 4 mechanisms of evolution they are natural selection, mutation, genetic drift and gene flow.
Maring is always not random in a population because non random mating can also occur sometimes because one organisms choose to mate with another based on certain traits.
