In what way do man-made organic poisons affect marine organisms?

At the time of raining, these chemicals are washed away into the water bodies alongwith the rain water. It can destroy the entire food chain of aquatic system or marine system.Also the improperly disposed man made chemicals can affect marine life like sea mammals, corals ,fishes etc. These man made pollutants create lack of oxygen in the marine water. The harmful organic man made pollutants are mainly pesticides like DDT and lindane ,industrial chemicals etc. These chemicals also supports overgrowth of algae and water plants which when die leaves a lot of organic matter creating pollution in the water bodies which directly affects marine animals.
