works:
Peptidoglycan is what forms a bacterial cell wall and provide
structural strength it requires to survive in the host cell. The
synthesis of this peptidoglycan molecules is prevented by the
administration of antibiotics,thereby making the cell wall weaker
and not strong enough to survive in the body.Example-
Penicillin
Some Antibiotics works by inhibiting protein synthesis,thereby
preventing bacteria to function properly, especially reproduction.
This is done by preventing the necessary molecules for protein
synthesis from binding to the ribsomes, the site of protein
synthesis. Example- Tetracycline
