How did Pasteur, Tyndall, and Cohn finally settle the spontaneous generation controversy?
Pasteur, Tyndall, and Cohn finally settled for the spontaneous generation controversy because first Pasteur was intended to disapprove the theory that living organisms can arise from inorganic materials. But then they conducted a swan neck experiment in which the following procedure has been conducted. They boiled a meat broth in a flask whose neck is curved like a goose, and kept the broth away from the outside air, this caused no growth of bacteria. When the mixture is heated, it also prevented the growth. But when the flow of air is allowed , it is seen that microbial growth is seen. Despite many attempts, every time living organisms are present , hence they became sure of the spontaneous generation theory.
