You and your lab mate believe you've found the brain regions that contains the biological clock in a new animal. How can you test to be sure this is true? Design an experiment that will tell you if you're right or note.

Answer #1

Biologcal clock is usually associated with the circardian rhythm of the animal which means the sleep wake cycle.

In order to check this following can be done :

Experiment : The animal is exposed to cycles of dark and light conditions initially and physiological and behavioural patterns are observed. The activity of the identified spot during this time is noted.

This can again be confirmed by adjusting the wavelength of light in regard to the dark and light radiations given and noting the responses to find out.

Analysis and Report - "The Science of Cool" During this lesson, you've learned about the variety of research methodologies that a psychologist scientist may choose to use in answering a research question. Now it's your turn to think carefully and creatively through a research question and choose an appropriate method. The research question:   What is the concept of "Cool"? Can we identify people who are "cool"? Are there benefits (or effects) to being a "cool" person (i.e. what might cool...

Here is my problem: In Swift I, you used your knowledge at the time to create a High / Low Guessing Game.   This week, you will update (or create a new version of) the game using the knowledge you've now attained. You will be creating a High/Low guessing game as outlined below: In this game: Your app will think of a random number between 0 and 999, and you (the player) will have to guess the number. You can use...

Suppose someone has told you that he will pay you $500 if you can roll a die and have it land on a 6. You both agree that you will use a virtual die that can be found at this website. Be sure to set it on one die, and not two. You are not certain that using a die such as this virtual die is actually as fair as a normal plastic die and want to justify for yourself...

Lab 9 – Molecular Biology In this lab, you will prepare an agarose gel and use gel electrophoresis to compare the size of 2 dye molecules Methyl orange and Ponceau G. You will also analyze an “unknown” sample that contains a mixture of two dyes. Dye molecules with lower molecular weight or greater electrical charge will migrate faster through the gel, than dye molecules with greater molecular weights or lesser electrical charge. Materials: Mini gel electrophoresis chamber 6 Tooth comb...

As you saw from the lab PowerPoint slides last week, you will be doing a research study looking at ‘Aggression Priming” for your first paper. For this week’s discussion, I want you to discuss with your group what you think this study is about. What is the hypothesis? What theory does it come from? What do you predict will happen (do you expect something different than the hypothesis in the researcher instructions? If so, what and why?)? Do you think...

Part A. Input Validation (Name your C program yourLastName_yourFirstName_Lab4a.c) 1. Place the code you developed in Lab 2 to obtain a diameter value from the user and compute the volume of a sphere (we assumed that to be the shape of a balloon) in a new program, and implement the following restriction on the user’s input: the user should enter a value for the diameter which is at least 8 inches but not larger than 60 inches. Using an if-else...

Activity 1: Scientific Reports You may have heard the question “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” A similar question can be asked about experiments. “If a researcher performs an experiment and never publishes the result has science been performed?” Many people would say no because science is the accumulation of knowledge. If the results of an experiment are not published, knowledge is not gained. The final...

IntList Lab Specifications You are required to come up with a single header file (IntList.h) that declares and implements the IntNode class (just copy it exactly as it is below) as well as declares the IntList Class interface only. You are also required to come up with a separate implementation file (IntList.cpp) that implements the member functions of the IntList class. While developing your IntList class you must write your own test harness (within a file named main.cpp). Never implement...
