I just need you to respond to my classmate there is no right or wrong answer
Energy drinks have many pros and cons. Energy drinks do in fact give athletes more energy, which could potentially enhance athletic performance by giving them a boost of energy. Unfortunately, energy drinks can also impede athletic performance in many ways. Energy drinks contain the same amount of caffeine as twelve cups of coffee. This amount of caffeine can cause shaking, anxiety and cardiac side effects. A large amount of caffeine can also cause dehydration and slow you down, decreasing your athletic performance. Athletes should drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and also drink gatorade or powerade to help supplement the electrolytes that were lost during physical activity. If an athlete does infact choose to drink energy drinks before their big game, they should also keep water or gatorade near by to drink during breaks to help with the shaking and potential dehydration that could occur. Athletes should not drink energy drinks every day and should monitor for cardiac side effects, such as increased heart rate and increased blood pressure to prevent damage to their heart over time.
Ans. High-caffeine energy drinks have become increasingly popular before and during practice, but energy drinks do not always blend well with practice. Although the caffeine and taurine they include can boost endurance exercise, these beverages can not substitute hydration or fuel for water and sports beverages. On the other hand sports drinks such as Gatorade and Powerade usually contain water, sodium, sugar and sometimes potassium, which enable the body to absorb sweat or breath lost fluids and salts. The sugars not only help the body to absorb the water, but also fuel muscles that require sugar to continue working well during long journeys, hikes or motorcycles. Energy drinks are designed, on the other hand, to include caffeine and other stimulants for the rush of energy, like guaranas or ginsengs. Taurine, which is an amino acid that can improve workouts by muscle contraction and waste disposal, may also be present. However, energy drinks do not replace lost fluids while exercising. Certain products come in small cans with a large amount of caffeine in a small quantity of liquid. Most of them are carbonated, which can lead to burping, nausea and a bloated feeling.
So, energy drinks have many side effects when taken regularly or during exercise and can cause many medical problems if taken regularly. This is why it is recommended to take a sports drink while workout or while doing heavy physical works as they help to keep the body hydrated and also supply with the necessary salts which increase the stamina of the body without side effects. Hence sports drink should be prefered over energy drinks by the sportsmen.
