Chromosomes are found in the nucleus and are observed in nuclear division    Plasmids are small circular DNA which are found in all bacteria.   
It carries hundreds to thousands of genes It posses only small number of genes
Chromosomes are covered with protein Plasmids are not covered with protein
Chromosomes are linear as they carry DNA. Plasmids are circular in shape.
Chromosomes are large in size and are expressed in mega scale. Plasmids vary from less than 1.0 kb to 200 kb.
Chromosomes posses centromere and sister chromatids. Plasmids dont have centromere and chromatids.
