The symptoms with drugs maybe drug specific but general harm drug/alcohol may produce can be as follows:

1) It affects the central nervous system causing temporarily loss of judgment, sel-control, euphoria, will power, speech and vision impairment. Long term use may neuronal degeneration.

2) It may casue various types of cancers like gastric carcinoma etc.

3) Tissue degeneration, liver cirrhosis leading to liver failure

4) Depression, fatigue, vandalism, violence, isolation and addiction. Addiction makes things even worst socially and personally.

5) It becomes even worst with pregnant women as the infant is largely at harm and may even develop addiction to certain drug when exposed in the mother's womb; a group of such problems is called Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS).

6) Intravenous drug abuse may transmit many kinds of infections like HIV causing life threatening disease -AIDS
